During the energy audit my classmates and I got to met a man by the name of Louis Palmer. He’s a school teacher from Lucerne, Switzerland. With big dream and determination, he wanted to drive a car around the world. However, when he learned about climate change and the effect of driving on the environment, he decided he could do it cleanly too. He talked with a University and a professor and his students took up the mission of building a solar car to drive all the way around the world. Once the car was finished people told him the car wouldn’t last. Well, it did and he drove it all over the world. He admits that the car is a pain however, because he can only get enough power for the car from a trailer of solar panels behind him. It is hard and difficult to drive. He has high hopes that within the next few years people will have solar panels on their homes and they can charge their cars through that. However with the current economy and the concept of “change” scaring people off I think there is a quicker way to do. Renovate gas stations into Solar stations where people can charge their cars. That is what my project is going to be about.
